Trying

The first day in Ramdan is gone , and i feel like time is running and I wish if I can invest in it from doing as much as I can in this month. Time is so precious indeed all the time, but maybe we feel it more in Ramdan month because of the extra blessing in it, trying to seek forgiveness and praying God.

Yesterday I saw in the TV, in one of the programs , one of the religon speakers, actually he is very well known in The Middle east " amr khaled ". The man was in a progrm before ramadan as well , he has an influencing capability that may effect people easily, actually he said something very nice in the progam, that the reason that he has the capability to influece the youth generation and those who are brought up from a certain standard .. because he is actually close to this group in terms of age and standard , that is why he feels our needs then ,....so when he addresses us , he doesn;t sound like some one who is so far away , who doesn't know of any of the temptations or thoughts that cross our minds.

Frankly, yes ,when some one advices you by something like " You should and You should not" and doesn't know about the other needs the other person is actually havng or his /her points of weakness, makes the communication much harder and more rejecting to accept the advice.

He will be starting a program in ramadan on the Prophet's (PBUH) story in Iqraa channel, maybe he would have an english translation for it later on his site.

I read the prophet's story before in some sort of detail, but I believe that I need to reread it and hear from some one else as a teacher so as to have a deeper focus on his personality, what he passed through and learn from his behaviours in the different situations he passed through in his life, ...because he is indeed, the one who we should look up for.

Wish there were a lot more about Islam on US television. The general public still strikes me as knowing basically nothing about it.

I happened to go to divinity school so I did learn a bit about it, (the stress was Christianity, but there was a bit on Islam and Judaism - very little on eastern religions, unfortunately) but otherwise, if I depended just on the media, I'd be the same.

Paul , I don't actually know about the media in the states whether it brings things in Islam or not ..

but as far as i know that the media is sometimes not fair in how it presents things , so I believe that things should be better taken first hand ...

unfortunately I know no channels that show Islam in english at the moment at the satellite ,

but on the net you can visit many islamic sites in english like
www.sultan.org
www.islamonline.net
www.islamonline.net

and there is an english translation for some of "amr khaled" , the man i mentioned in the post , website as: http://www.amrkhaled.net/acategories/categories79.html

It is actually strinking me too Paul that sometimes I find people who have no idea and just repeat what they hear without giving themselves a chance to read and out reach better , and they have no clue at all about what is Islam all about

One can learn about islam by watching what devout muslims do:

Killing, bombing, head-chopping, child-torturing and hating: That about sums it up...

flanstine, didn't i tell you before not to write any comments at my post ? why do you have to impose your self on my blog.

I don't know you religon , but actually you are giving a bad example for them, very bad

And really ! does islam can be learned through these acts ??? I think more read and well educated people of any religon holder know more about it , ...no wonder why Paul said that it strikes him to see some who absolutely know any thing just like in such an aggressive attitude.

Who are for God's sake are tortured and killed in Iraq the first days in ramadan claiming that the war was for Iraqee freedom and who are the onea who are killed and tortured in palenstine ...media is just covering up your eyes ..or maybe you just want to be eyefolded on the truth that you just don't want to see so as believe what you want to believe.

Hatred is summed up in you and who are like you

AGAIN dont write here any more

And one can learn, Flanstein, about ur religion and country and culture from the wars u wage, killing millions of innocent people, and children, and the child pornography and the rapings and incest and murder and crime.
